The first bottle seemed to have really nice brambleberry type notes, but really had a crazy amount of acidity. And was really particularly out of balance. So, I let the other one sit for I believe around 2 years?? Either way, not so sure that was the best move either as the fruit has seemed to fade quite a bit. This was sort of an oddball wine from the very beginning, so I will leave it up to whoever enjoys bottles that might still be remaining out there to rate this one maybe a little bit better than I am able, as I think there could have been something just a tiny bit off with mine.

Monthly tasting club LTC 2019-09: A random selection (By me @ LWH): A lot of vanilla and beautiful oak and red berries in the aromatic bouquet. On the palate a beautiful wine with juicy red and dark berries and eucalyptus. Delicious and something special. Ready now and the next few years.

This is pushing the ripeness level for merlot for me. Drank after a 2002 Bordeaux, so it may not have been a fair compassion, as '02 was not a ripe year in Bordeaux.

If I tasted this blind I wouldn't have guessed Merlot. The dark fruit bouquet displays cedar, graphite, spices, black tea, and Jolly Roger grape candy action. Sinuous and savory, rich and glyceriny, with no heaviness whatsoever. Softens considerably with air, with a shade of chocolate on the back end. The finish is long, broad, and expansive. Lovely.

Weekly tasting group RWP #356: 6 random whites and 6 random reds as a blind test (@ My place): In the bouquet the oak and beautiful minty eucalyptus dominates. On the palate a juicy, supple and round, beautiful wine with good acidity and round tannin. Ready now, but it will certainly offer pleasure over the next 3 years. Slightly sorry this was my last bottle.
