The Baron de L always needs quite some time to fully blossom. The bouquet merges varietal notes of freshly cut grass and gooseberries with cream and some stone fruit. The palate is medium to full with good acidity and richness. This is drinking beautiful right now, but having tried older examples, I believe it will easily hold for another decade.

Tried at Oinoscent. Dark yellow color with the nose showing a wide range of aroams, buttery, caramel and honey notes, syrup, tin stone fruit, spicy, earthy, mushroom, nutty and grassy when it actually warms up. In the palate, the wine is much more fruity and grassy, fresh vegetal notes, citrus, lime, ripe pineapple, medium body and acidity with medium to long finish. Outstanding quality, needs time to open up, feels at its peak but would keep it a bit more.

Very forward and opulent nose with flowers, truffles and concentrated lemonade. Sweet attack, lots of glycerine but also with the sauvignon acidity keeping things in check. On the back palate you detect some heavy buttery notes. It defies comprehension that this has seen no oak, just low yields and lees. Long finish. A food wine for sure.

Still strong. Lovely minerality, pronounced acidity, some citrus fruits on the nose. Was afraid this would be tired by now. But no. From magnum.
