  • Into the decanter before we went to the theater, and drank about 1/2 bottle with late dinner. The 2-3 hours in the decanter brought it to an ideal balance point (and we are not PN drinkers in general. On the nose, unlike PnP- the pepperish and oak/smoky came to livevery well, the floral background (peppers, cedar?), and the fruit (berries) were to the front of the smell. On the plate- once again, earthy and spicy notes- like PnP, but the finish got longer, and the feeling of the wine was much better. This time, medium plus finish. On the following morning, we noticed that the nose was even somewhat bigger on the 'toast/oak' (imagine three channels for the smell, with the fruits at the center and the oak/earthy notes on both sides. Does not make sense? well, open one and leave it overnight (at around 35-40) in the decanter and see for yourselves). More spicy the following day. As noted six months ago-- Off to a very good start on its cellaring worthiness, which was voted with the wallet (unusual decision for a PN on my end). I gave it 91+, maybe even 92 this time, fwiw from someone who is not a regular PN consumer.

  • Anderson Conn Valley Visit (Conn Valley Vineyards): We are not PN drinkers in general (we are more cabs fans) and we loved this one. This is not like any other PN I had. Very earthy and balance on the nose, floral background (peppers, cedar?). Earthy and spicy notes on the palate. Medium finish. Off to a very good start on its cellaring worthiness. Voted with the wallet (unusual decision for a PN on my end).
