Great and refreshing on the palate. (483 views) | | | Tasted by french16 on 11/10/2009 & rated 91 points: An evening with Frederic Coulon from Domaine Beaurenard (Perman): Some oak on the nose (light moka) with a little bit of plum, ripe strawberry and dark fruits along cocoa powder. Almost opaque, firm tannins, pruny finish with some licorice. Definitely needs time to gain complexity and integrate the oak. NOSE: Australian black licorice; black cherry; a bit savory with a hint of smoke. Day 2: dark fruits - plum; pretty tight (tighter than Day 1); hint of leather.
BODY: medium bodied; fine particulate matter; magenta-ruby color of medium-deep depth.
TASTE: mirrors NOSE: black licorice; a bit spicy - oak; well-balanced; black cherry with a background hint of strawberry; 14.5% alc.; hint of leather; not funky; a bit tannic – good grip; medium-length finish (35-40 sec.). Day 2: tannic (moreso than Day 1); hint of anise; garrigue; bit more closed than Day 1, although the finish is a bit longer today (45-52 sec.); spicy; plums and figs; still needs serious time. Overall, this is really nice – it’s not overblown, and seems to have the structure to age well.
90-91. (845 views) | | | Tasted by Nanda on 5/21/2008 & rated 88 points: Flock - Grenache Tasting (Chicago, IL): Light ruby and translucent. Nose is light and reticent - shows some sweet berries and herbs. Palate is light-to-medium bodied. Dark fruit. Thin on the mid-palate. Simple and short. Shut down? Group's #10, my #11. (1808 views) | | | Tasted by Terkel on 11/9/2007 & rated 92 points: Chaupin vs. Boisrenard: Clear black, red color with a purple rim. Aromas of dark berries, pepper and a bit of nail polish, very typical châteauneuf du pape style. Sweet fruit with some oak on the palate. Sour whole milk on the midpalate and more pepper on the finish. Good long taste. Nice young châteauneuf, that will benefit from cellaring. (2060 views) | | | Tasted by DanSm on 7/1/2007 & rated 92 points: This was a Father's Day gift. Best of all Rhone blends I've tasted. Deep black and red fruit. Great complexity and balance. Too bad one has to reach this price to experience what the Rhone Valley of France (and Rhone grape varieties) are capable of producing. This shows very rich dark fruit notes with earth, wood and subtle vanilla notes. Full bodied, powerful and well structure with a long finish. Medium bodied with a clean, pure feel and masses of fine grained tannins on the finish. 93/94. (2927 views) | | | Tasted by Siggy on 6/17/2006: France Trip Part 1 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape; 6/16/2006-6/17/2006: Tasted at the domaine. Cinnamon galore. Rich, deep black and red fruit. Kirsch/cherries. Seems to have a lot of oak, but actually only 20%. Excellent. (3318 views) | | | Tasted by Anonymous on 6/17/2006: Tasted at the domaine. Spicy - baking spices. Black fruit. Cocoa. Structured. Confit of plum / prume, and hints of earth. Very impressive. (2515 views) |
