  • A brooding nose of some dark fruits and spices, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, cassis, dark chocolate and spices on long finish, different but very good. www.winelx.com

  • Complex scents of earth, spice and crushed dark fruits on the nose. Initially thin, acidic and austere, this transformed completely after an hour of air and continued to improve throughout the evening. Became rich and full-bodied after the second hour. Still retains just enough cherry, plum and dark currant fruit to harmoniously offset the massive tannic structure. Very earthy and smoky, with a touch of cassis. Was hard to identify this as Syrah, except for the lingering licorice note on the back end of the long, mouth-puckering finish. Like drinking liquid velour, in the end. Quite unusual for a Syrah, but very interesting and enjoyable.

  • Still pretty young and fruity. Big and airy, ok harmony. Good drink.
