First from a six pack bought EP. Classic meaty Cote Brune. Lots of bacon, raspberry fruit and meaty broth. The fruit is there but not up front. Best between 3-4 hours after decanting. Still some tannin but it fills out well. Mid weight but dense raspberries, more ham than bacon in the flavour, classy. Early maturity. This will drink well for 10+ years.

I've found it quite accessible. Blackberry mixed with red fruits like raspberry and cherry - hints of game meat, earthy spice and iron. With 2-3 hours of air fruit became darker ir riper, but still balanced very well with fresh acidity. Balance is great, elegant wine with Brune power. Should become more spicy and earthy with time. Many years left, but no problem to open it now with decent decant.

Northern Rhone night at Chaoshan: Correctly identified as a warmer vintage Cote Rotie from either 2009 or 2012. A little reduction on the nose that never quite blew off even with air. Made in an elegant, lighter style that was quite different to a 2013 that I tried before that was more brutish and typical of the plot. Good salinity and very pretty wine. Clearly stood out from the rest and most voted this as WOTN including myself.

Nose: This needed a few hours of air to really wake up. Once it did, it was all about Cote-Rotie that I love with Black pepper, raspberries, olive paste, crushed rocks, black cherries, licorice, violets, bacon fat, and tobacco.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity and chewy medium+ tannins. There is excellent depth and balance to the feel with black cherries, raspberries, olive paste, crushed rocks, licorice, bacon fat, and loads of violets on the finish.
Overall: Whike I think this can easily age for another 10+ years, it’s well worth drinking right now. I love the balance and refinement it’s showing with a primary nature.

第一天,刚开瓶还挺香,light style,还可以。错听了下面的品论,醒了三小时,气味没有了,口中是个非常light的Syrah,意思不大。
接下来几次, 没有太大不同
