Arlaud with Arlaud (Portland restaurant, London): Deep ruby to fullish garnet. Dense. Savoury dark red to black fruit. Tighter and fuller through the men-palate. Lacks a touch of zip and freshness on the finish. Really quite full at the loss of finesse. Fantastically plush, dense and dark, but for me, overdone. Blind I'd be in a ripe new world vintage. ***

Bourogne in the Fall (Oslo): Dark and very brown, no youthfulness at all. Lovely length, but dies out sooner than I wanted. Good structure mixed with initial sweetness. Unsure about this, curious bottle, might turn into a better drink or even very fine wine, but the color doesn’t suggest it. When the identity was revealed: More Chambertin than Charmes.

Purple color. Ripe, spicy nose. Dark punchy fruit on the palate. Medium finish. Not tasting like a Grand Cru or Burgundy.

Piaciuto ma non tanto come gli altri borgogna, forse ero troppo stanco...
