  • Ethereal. Just wonderful right now. Red raspberry, some plum, minerality, ratio of sweet to acid was great, maybe tannin was too pronounced but of course as a 2012 it is still too young , but not by much

  • PNP. Un très beau nez. En bouche, c’est encore très jeune, avec beaucoup de fruits. On a l’impression de VE car le fruit est croquant. Une belle complexité, mais est-ce que ça vaut le prix? …

  • Bottle breathe for 1.5 hours. Distinctive nose with blowing flowers (violet?), which is so obvious. This nose continues to evolve in the next 1.5 hours in the glass showing no sign of fading. The palate is smooth and silky, ripe fruit with strawberry, raspberry, violet and vanilla. Medium finishing with good acidity. Very nice.

  • Excellent. Drinking very nicely now with the usual smoked meat and wet grass aromas I like so much in Mortet St Jacques. Young enough so its smooth and silky on the palate. Continued to drink well from the get go to 2 hours later. This is in a better window than the 2009 and can't wait to see how it compared with the 2013s.

  • Not bad. Though, in a single blind flight with Grivot Beau Monts 2012, Dujac Charmes Chambertin 2012, and Ponsot Chambolle Charmes 2012, certainly the weakest. Lightest aromatically with fully red fruit nose verging on sweet cherry candy, thought for sure this was Chambolle. Elegant and rich on the palate with a fruit driven feel. There is some spice on the nose, but this lacks the robustness and power I would expect from Gevrey. I’m really struggling with connecting the written characteristics of each village to my experience in the glass.
