  • Nearly two years after our prior bottle, we have to agree with the more recent notes below: this is not an easy wine to love. And we didn’t, over three nights. We were close to giving up on the first night, but on the second and third it did smooth out a bit and lose some unwelcome astringency.

  • We've been through about six of these. Two have been flawed (one corked, one fruitless so also possibly mildly corked). The sound bottles are serviceable, but unexciting. There are harsh, rustic tannins and a dearth of fruit. While quite pleasing at fist pop with interesting dark fruit, this bottle decayed to a mostly medicinal/chemical finish by the end of the bottle.

  • (Coravin) I found this wine below average albeit I only gave it about 45 minutes of air. A very nice nose was not mirrored with a good tasting wine. I found the wine lacking any harmony or balance. The finish was dry and a bit hard edged. Maybe some call it rustic but I call it disappointing. This is another example of my love/hate relationship with Burgundies.

  • Medium Ruby. Bright, balanced, a nice touch of earth. Surprisingly, it compared quite favorably to the 2012 153 year anniversary Beaune 1er bottling, which we had along with it over three nights.

  • This medium ruby wine offers aromas of raspberries, red licorice, cranberries and coriander. Light-bodied, tart, seamlessly alcoholic and with lightweight dry tannins, it delivers flavors which mirror the nose. The middle palate is solid and the finish is medium-length, albeit astringent. This rustic wine should show reasonably well over the next 2-3 years, but don't expect it to become a butterfly. Drink now-2018.
