Dark red in color, this is a bit leaner than other years of Howell Mountain, but it is drinking well. This is not a fruit bomb, but more nuanced. Has red fruit with some tabacco notes, tannins are lighter in the background which balances well with the more restrained fruit. Medium length finish.

Mostly unchanged from last bottle in 2017. Still very fruit forward, bordering on jammy. Very unusual for a 2011.

Another disappointing effort from a consistently disappointing producer.
