La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Nose isn't showing much at all. On the palate there are red and blue berry fruits - very pure. Also nice dark notes - sappy fruit some stems, Really precise and pure. Nose - ?/6, Palate - 5.5+/6, Finish - 5.5+/6, Finish - 1.5/2 = ?/20, probably 17-17.5/20.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. For me this was a step down from the Clos de la Roche, and not just because Mazis is more tannic and backward. In fact, I found this slightly lighter than normal for Mazis from a good/ripe vintage and didn't find the same harmony as in the better wines in the lineup. Bigger, better fruit emerges on finish, but it still just didn't give me the same composed impression as did the CdlR or Beze.

Shows the rustic earthiness of the other Bernstein wines, but the acid is a little harsh at this point compared to the CdlR, and not quite as pretty. Should resolve just fine with time and keep this wine lovely through aging. 92-93

Ripe and quite big. Think this will benefit from a lot more Aging.

Olivier Bernstein Dinner with Olivier Bernstein (Sepia - Chicago IL): Ripe black fruit with lots of fleshy character. Good density, particularly to start, slightly finer and more elegant on good+ finish.
