Drinking in a goodplace. While still hefty and rich, it is far more mellow than the young CPs I’ve had recently and been pretty ambivalent about. Meyer lemon, unripe stone fruit, grapefruit, bitter grapefruit peel that is almost quinine, and juicy acidity that give it freshness and lift, despite the noticeable alcohol that I have found in every Carlisle white I’ve tried. Finish is lovely and long.

What happens if you go to a bris and a Carlisle breaks out? I'm not sure where my niece got this wine, but it must have originated with me, then gone to my sister, who then brought it to my niece's house to celebrate ushering in my sister attaining grandmotherhood. I got there just it time to hear the baby scream, all the men in the room double over in sympathetic pain, and when I turned to the left, I was saved by a bottle of Carlise.
I had the 2013 in 2015 and I was not a big fan. I thought it was a bit rough. Now I think perhaps it was just too young, because with 5 years of age, the 2012, at least, has mellowed out quite deliciously. Breadth, weight and meatyness. The spice of the Gewurztraminer had mellowed into lychee nuts and other tropical fruits and there is a smoothness to this wine that I did not find in the young 2013.

As others have said, very aromatic. Notes of lychee and rose petals from the Gewurtraminer. Other very nice notes. Medium to full bodied for a white.
