A bit more massive, closed in than the 2013 tasted a few months ago, with darker graphite type minerals, lavender, smoke, cocoa powder, raspberry and blueberry type fruits. A bit hard on entry but opens out to some compelling, long spices. This demands time and attention to open up but remains reluctant over several hours. Very Vogue, as one would imagine, but not quite as impenetrable as vintages seen in the 80’s and 90s. These young vines have some lovely elegance. Needs at least 5 years, preferably 10+.

Last in a trio shown by our very generous host: deepest and darkest yet; fruit character leaning more towards blueberry and cassis; fragrant roses, very fine tannins for a young Vogue wine despite the tremendous underlying extract. All three would be great to revisit every 3 years. 92+. Thanks John!!!

Cool and stony, with some bright red and black fruits. Good depth and definition. Relatively compact in the mouth. Builds through the palate and really fans out on the finish. Still youthful but just starting to drink well.

Francois Millet describes this wine as Musigny in short pants. Very pretty bouquet of rose petals, if you can’t tell this is a Burg then there isn’t much hope. Darker spectrum of fruits, some sous bois. First time trying a Vogüé and certainly can see why everyone says it takes forever to come around. Very reticent but I would be bullish on this.

Still very tight, but impressive nonetheless.
