The 2012 vintage in Burgundy is often characterised by notably ripe fruit, and this wine is very much an expression of its vintage. Ripe fruit (plums, black berries) and earth, silky and smooth, 100% destemmed if I am not mistaken, additional warmth and depth from the wood, good depth, supple and rich, quite a modern and polished style, not profound but does not lack precision, mild tannins, nice complexity on the finish, good length. A solid performance. Drink now - 2022. At Crus Châtelet, Paris, France.

Strange nose with some unusual funk. Taste of cranberry and bitter unripe strawberry. Mild taste of stems. Slightly tanic.
