nose-smoky mouth - fresh and on the lighter/lively side. still tannic though. quite fresh, I liked this but others found it to lack stuffing. Possibly past prime. drink up

Opened this bottle in the morning, tasted for spoilage and then allowed to slow-ox in the cellar until supper time. Did not decant but poured from the bottle. Wow, what an incredible aroma of cassis, cedar, pencil shavings, smoke -- just so classic. On the palate, no sharp edges, sweet fruit, amazing depth and length and complete balance. A brilliant wine, beautifully inside its drinking window. Drink now and for the next few years.

Super austere but oh so cultivated! Cedar closet, pine needles and garrigue on the nose. Great acid, little fruit remaining, but... goosebumps! I really like this, but it's likely that not everyone will. Very youthful though. Presented blind to a dinner party and no one guessed it was older than 8 years!

Nose not very evolved. Some dark chocolate and some blackberry. Palate is sharp with overpowering pencil shavings followed by chalk. Does make you feel like writing a murder mystery in which the joker is the serial killer.

Monthly Tasting Group: Bordeaux and Cabs 2009 and Older (Chez Dalluge, MN): Very dark red/purple color. Small glass. Ripe, concentrated and full bodied, blackberry, scorched earth, mineral, good length, youthful with plenty of wood yet. 91+ to 92pts.
