Clear red garnet color. Not a huge nose, some nice earth & plum. But out of balance - with acids up front and strong tannins at the back, combined w/ no serious middle to pull it all together. And therein lies the weakness. (and almost a run on sentence). The nose saves and warmth brings out sweetness. Sadly one more ho-hum early 2000's Carneros PN.
First bottle was corked. Returned to store and replaced.
Awesome! Needed a little over an hour to open up, but when it peaked it had a very balanced, earthy flavor with just enough fruit to make it a really fantastic drink. No heat, no acidity, just plain great. Now's the time for this wine.
