Open in bottle for 2.5hrs, tasted in hotel room and it had a little spritz on it...did a little shake, and it was ready to go at the restaurant! Did need time to open up, and boy did it! Gorgeous DRC perfume nose...exotic cherry and wild strawberry...whole cluster underbrush, sandalwood and white pepper...little smoke in the woods as well. Darkened up quite considerably from the high toned red berry brightness, to a deeper chocolate covered raspberry, rich earth, little sous bois and leather. Fantastic firm structure, yet silky smooth...iron fist, velvet glove thing. The florals and exotics were intoxicating...the wine just kept expanding till the very end. Killer wine!

Wow. I could live in the nose. Cranberries, strawberries, black tea, delicate spices, and red florals. Totally seductive. Needed some time to unfurl on the palate, but texturally, this is an incredible balanced and structured wine. No wonder Corton is costing more than Echezeaux these days. This is the height of pleasure so early on. Can't wait to see what additional cellaring will do!

Belle longue finale. Sera encore plus harmonieux dans 5 ans.

Sunfish 400th Tasting (Sunfish cellars): A small pour at a tasting. Nice good flavor and spice. Good structure. At this young age, I don't feel it differentiates itself much from other quality pinot. Best to hold.

Distinctively DRC, stems, spice, big oak. Sort of exactly what I expected and really great. Modern and big but struck by the effortless lightness.
