Similar notes to last year’s bottle. Happy having paid $80 but not sure I would think of this as a grand cru. Head to head with a Boillot Pommard Jarollieres 2002, the Boillot was the more interesting wine.

Very smooth and rich and silky with nice black cherry w a touch a plum/prune in terms of age peaking through. Great nose and finish after chewing it a bit. Not sure I would pick it as a grand cru blind but well worth it at the $80 I paid several years ago. Ready to drink but feels like it holds at this level for a bit.

Served blind, following a 2011 Burguet Beze (also blind). This is just a notch less rich and exciting yet still meaningfully over-performs my expectations for 2011. Good black cherry fruit with nice savory spice accents. Ready to go now.

Had this at Guy Savoy in Las Vegas as a tasting menu pairing. Amazing. Full of fruit, light. Thought it had more complexity than what the other reviews say. Didn’t know anything about the bottle or producer beforehand and now it’s at the top of my wish list.

Post Election ""Drink Your Mood" Tasting...No Orange Wine (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Served double blind immediately after the Burguet. This showed more spice and almost as much fruit, but just less textural excitement. Still very good, certainly in its peak drinking window.
