Dark red with a brick red rim. Developed nose of pipe tobacco, cigar box, raisins, raw meat, and raspberry straps. Palate is initially full with masses of dried fruit on the entry but sweeter red fruits at the end. The tannins are resolved and warming.

It was exactly 2 years ago that I opened my first bottle of this and I think this one even better. It seems to have thrown off a bit of youthful fat to its advantage and has revealed an extra touch of classy backbone which is IMO is more typically Cahors. Not ready to slide downhill. Very good.

I agree completely with eboracum (below). I was surprised at how fruity and full bodied this was. It has not degraded one bit from the last tasting note, in fact, I'd increase the longevity to more like 2022. Fabulous wine.

This is riper and fruitier than I am used to with Cahors. The usual near black colour and nose discreet but expressive and fragrant. There was medium body, quite sweet fruit with a brambly touch, suave texture, good depth, minerals, a touch of liquorice, fresh acidity and a firm finish with ripe tannic backbone. Drinking very well but will probably stay on a plateau for some time. Very good but a bit short on Cahors typicity.

Dense, chunky wine. Lots of rustic pleasure though not fine.
