Very blackberry, almost like a brandy; full bodied, and no tannins, with a little bit of a fiery alcohol flavor at the end, so maybe it needs a year or two to mellow out.

That drinking date is completely off, but I cannot recall when I opened this. I do recall that this remains one of the best Central Coast Syrahs, IMO, much more savory than most of the fruit bombs that I deplore from down the coast. Nice roasted coffee notes, but not overwhelming with the tannins. Clear line of mostly blue fruit. This reminds me of a better Crozes Hermitage, and the price, which often is promotional at around $20, is in line with the experience. Better than a $15 daily drinker, something you could put in front of casual company and they would ask where you picked it up.
