Well, five hours decanting plus some good 'ole fashion shaking to aerate it up front and only the nose evolved well. Taste was still off-balance, steely, and a bit harsh and acidic. The bottle may have been poorly cellared at some point. To cure it, I mixed about 50% over-fruity, well-decanted quality California merlot and the result was much better than the original.

Pop and pour and approx 30 min decanting. Color like a tawny port, a dusty brown red. Nose of caramel, amaretto, ripe red fruit, on the attack not very strong, tastes of ripe fruit, with slightly drying tannins, medium to light body, finish of wood, a bi of heat, and old leather. May be over the hill a bit. Will report if improves with decanting. Sigh.

Barely drinkable and far too expensive at 13 Euros. 70% Merlot, muddy fatty undeliniated sweet pappy thick stagnant brew. Aroma? Taste? Afterglow? No, you're not following. Think: Headaches, sick-making, full of something undefinably nasty.
