Notwithstanding it was 2 years beyond the drinking window once decanted this SGM was silky, seamless and well rounded on the pallet. Fruit driven it was too easy to consume!

Decanted 1 to 2 hours before tasting. Intense nose with red fruits, funk and bit of tobacco and pepper, on the palate concentrated with enough acidity, very long and complex, superb, would never have pointed to Australia. In a very good place now but there is no hurry, thanks to the screw cap it will last easily another 6 to 10 years.

Lavendar & Cardamon on the nose, rich bramble like fruit, with a big hit of star anise, dusty tannins and nice length but the alcohol is poking out somewhat - still lovely although very primary - not sure where this will go 2.5 fingers

The finesse that was described by users in 2015 is motly gone. The wine seems to be at the end of his lifespan with a quite dramatic loss in complexity. That's a bit of a surprise to me only 8 years after vintage for a wine at this price level. So for me right now a bit overpriced. Better go for a decent CdR::-). By the way, the Bin 138 is probably best in a Chardonnay/Zinfandel glass as it can not handle a big Burgundy glass in contrast to some other Rhône/GSM-blends.

Nice red, but needs to be drunk now. Shows a lot of age for being only 9 years old....
