Much like the bottle tasted in 2014, but on the margin perhaps more animal and cherry-fruity, and less oxidative and therefore a bit younger and fresher. 89 p.

Brick colour at the rim. Nose with clearly developed notes bordering on the oxidative, cherries and some ripe strawberries, quite a lot of undergrowth and spice, some animal notes including meat juices. Medium bodied(+), cherries, rather pronounced spice notes, a bit of "extract/viscosity feeling", again some of those developed notes, and some tannins left. 88 p. The nose is quite Burgundian, but the palate shows a bit more New World hints. This one is fully developed and quite enjoyable to me, but should probably not be kept for too much longer by other than those who definitely lite mature wines. Those with a very young taste in wine would probably consider it too far gone already. I'd say it has developed faster than a red Burgundy at a corresponding level.

Red fruit (cherry), nice cola, spice. Lingering finish. A little off at first. Nice acidity. Slight drying on the finish. Enjoyable. Not as good the 2nd night.

Classic New Zealand Ata Rangi Pinot. Bright fruit, exciting nose, very much balanced and a joy to have with Wild BC Sockeye off the barbie.
