deepish red color with bricking rim, alluring smooth cherry nose with a hint of fig and beetroot, on the palate rolling waves of cherry and plum, dark spice notes, good length with cherry blossom notes on the finish, with time grew punchy and with lovely floral notes throughout, as with the 2006 tasted alongside- where it lacks a bit in complexity it more than compensates with its attractive presence, smooth leather note with time, in full maturity with time in hand.

Fairly light Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor that is dominated by typical spicy notes and vanilla oak but with barely discernable fruit. No unpleasant and even a bit intriguing but still less than expected from this producer and this vineyard.

Really enjoyed this, Martinelli pinot noir with some age is always so pleasant. Cheers!

If tasted blind would have pegged as Santa Barbara County fruit. Not amongst Martinelli's better offerings.
