  • Aging beautifully. Luscious red fruit, smooth and full bodied. No funkiness or off flavors.

  • Opened and poured within 30 minutes. Very smooth drink with wonderful flavor of red berries with a hint of spiciness, even at 6 years old. Never been disappointed by any of Kent's wines.

  • Decanted and poured. At this point, this wine requires at least 2 or 3 hours in the decanter prior to consumption. Sense great potential. UPDATE 03/18/17: Decanted for two hours and returned to the bottle. Shared with two other couples at Dinner along with 4 other bottles of various varietal. This was unanimously was WON. Silky and delicious and totally devoid of any gun powder or barnyard found in many Pinots.

  • Friends at the House: Tasted alongside the 2012 Talley Rosemary's Pinot and 2010 Kosta Browne Gap's Crown Pinot. The Pinot flight was paired with a cheese and charcuterie plate.

The EK was the most reserved and reticent of the three upon initial PnP. Some cranberry, pomegranate, strawberry-vanilla, and a little alcohol. The finish was clipped and a little biting.

After about six+ hours of slow O2, it was in a really nice place. Earth and spice box notes had arisen, as well as deeper/riper red berry flavors. I think 92 points is pretty much the apex of this Pinot. If choosing to drink now, decant for a couple of hours. Air definitely helps.

Still, this was ultimately last in the lineup. A "good" Pinot on the final sips, but a tad forgettable. My last bottle.

  • Same as 1/16/2016 except it doesn't appear to be necessarily improving. 91-92 points. The depth wasn't there this time as much for me. One bottle left. Something to drink in the near future or hold? Not sure what will help to improve this on any real significant level. A decent wine, and that's about it.
