Medium red,big PN nose, full initial fruit in the mouth with good balance and long. However after a couple of hours the tannins faded completely,as did most of the fruit. Still a tasty wine, well made, for drinking in the next 2 years.
Volnay Elegance (Absinthe, Bukit Pasoh): Nice way to start. Rich nose - mushroomy umami tones wed to flinty mineral, chalk, funky souis bois tones and a touch of flowers and haw flakes. Light, lithe palate -with orange peel and mineral tones undergirded with clean, integrated acid and tightish, but very fine, almost nervous tannins. More clean minerality marked the finish. Very young still, but ticks all the right boxes. I thought the acid went down a little with time, which was worrying, but I think it still has the legs to last a few more years at least. Should be really nice when it develops.
