  • Aroma: cherries, strawberries, prunes, burgundy funk, floral notes, plums and menthol.
Palate: cherries, strawberries, plums, very well balanced, bright acidity, medium-soft tannins with a medium long finish. Paired well with potato croquettes as it mellowed out the wine. Unfortunately the wine did not evolve as the night progressed. Not a super complex wine for the region in my opinion. 90-91

  • Think that this was when Patrice was still at the domain. Dark fruits, very subtle spice, good acid and a decent finish. Didn’t scream Vosne to me and felt a bit disappointed - thought the 96s should be in the zone at the moment. Overall a bit meh. Bought from auction.

  • Another lovely bottle of a wine that seems to have needed all of its 24 years to come to maturity. Its initially rusty coloured and rusty on the nose but with 3 hours open in bottle it delivers with with a deep red colour and a fine nose of wild strawberry, black raspberry and Asian spices. The palate is medium weight with a sense of weightlessness and shimmer thats surprising after the initial opening impression. The finish is fine without any jarring 96 notes and leaves a lingering impression of a classic bottle of 1er Cru Vosne.

  • Extended cellaring has treated this wine very well with a still deep colour with a tawny rim and lots of earth, black fruits and spice on the quite lifted nose. The palate has good density and drive with plenty of fruit definition and a long finish with well balanced acidity. This really very good and the complexity of age is very evident.
