Last bottle of six. Previous, in its first six or seven years, were quite lean and tight. This has been around the blocks and is perhaps not pristine but it is very tasty. Spiced stewed berries and plums, strawberry hinting at over maturity, tolerable VA, and an utterly beguiling aroma of truffles, more vivid than I’ve experienced before. Quite woody with fenugreek spice. Medium weight but high energy on the palate. Savoury with ripe sweet fruit. Very moreish once one adapts to the flavour world.

Left to aerate for four hours after half of the bottle was poured into a half-bottle for future use. Zalto Burgundy glass. The nose was elusive, with moments of dirt and moments of great fragrance, and vaguenesss in between. In the mouth it is fully present with a lovely dark tone resembling af lightweight Serralunga Barolo. Lovely tannins, good acidty. Overall quite young still, but very drinakable.
Second half from recorked half-bottle, four days later. Decanted half an hour before serving. This is quite different. Really fine expansive nose with less licorice than a Serralunga, rather something dusty and brown but really beatiful. Lovely mouthful with healthy tannins and everything in harmony (not least because of the outstanding takeaway dinner fro resutaurant Radio in Copenhagen). Wonderful stuff. Give it five more years or double-decant and recork four days in advance ...

Like the July 2018 bottle, this seems excellent to me right out of the bottle. An excellent meal wine: smooth, integrated, pleasingly acid, but not commanding so much attention as to distract from the food. Really like this now & will add to my 'buy' list when I see it priced well.

Four months ago, I thought this bottle wanted a long decant; today I think it's delicious with just a few minutes air. The vagaries of temperament and mood. Cherry, cherry, cherry, hint of tar and licorice. Nice weight. Hard to think of a better wine to add polish to a good meal, without taking over and hogging the attention. Definite cellar regular.

Needs time to open up but after a while in the glass there it is! In the nose ripe black berries, violets, almonds and a hint of tabacco. In the mouth the same taste as in the nose and also a little prunes. Very complex and exciting. Very nice tanins that are soft but present in a pleasant way. Still great acidity that makes it balanced and good with food. We had pasta with octopus in a spicy tomatosauce, with it. A long aftertaste. Unfortunately this was my last bottle. I start with the 2012 now. Looking forward how that will develop. The 2011 was a more powerrfull wine. Great but to big for us.
