"found" this bottle in my cellar following a long overdue reorganization; it has stood the test of time, although it tasted less like a Sauvignon Blanc and more like a Chenin Blanc. Offered a glass to the sommelier at dinner, who shared it blind with his 2 colleagues, neither guessed SB.

The first wine before our blind red tasting. Medium to deep yellow. Rich stone fruit on the nose with some oak, light honey, touch of grass and very clean. Medium acidity (6/10) and well rounded. Medium bodied with notes of honeysuckle, golden apples and tropical notes like guava. Some minerality with a medium plus finish. Drink till 2018.

Light golden color with watery rim. On the nose, there are light herbal notes, a whiff of chlorine, minerals, pear, and sweetness like a sugar cookie. The palate is a subdued mix of melon, pear, mineral, and floral notes. This medium-bodied win displays some alcoholic warmth initially. Overall, this comes across as a lighter version of a rousanne blend, heavy mineral influence with a touch of pear. Very interesting.

Nicely balanced SV. Went well with salmon and crab cakes.
