Light and refreshing! High residual sugar imparts significant sweetness that balances out the fairly high acidity of the wine, and in fact it reminds me quite a bit of German Rieslings from the Saar River. Ripe green apple with a side of citrus notes. While I prefer HJW's dry Rieslings, the wife certainly enjoyed this bottle when we shared it. I strongly recommend this bottle for anyone who is a fan of semi-dry whites.

[With Mikhail and Sveta. Pop & pour.] Bright, crisp, fresh, and delicious. A gorgeous Riesling with a long life ahead. Open 2 days: Crisp Macintosh apple nose. Lots of minerals, plenty of acidity, only a hint of sweetness. Delicious wine that should age for at least another decade.

The color was light yellow. There was no bouquet. The flavor was floral. The wine was much sweeter than our concept of semi-dry. I thought it was more of a Spatlese with respect to perceived residual.

Really had the makings of being special but somehow it falls a bit short. The taste is there. Apples, pineapples and a touch of melon. It's Spatlese sweet and very food friendly. Pretty bouquet and a long finish, but it's lacking a touch of distinction and winds up without the complexity to get it to the next level. Still, it's a serious wine with a decent QPR, but it could have been a real contender.

Bursts with honeyed sweetness, apricot and mango notes. This would work best as a dessert wine or aperitif.
