  • At 10 this wine years of age this wine is still drinking nicely. Wild cherry, some leather, tobacco, and earth on the nose. Comes in dry, goes out with fine dry tannins. Elegant, medium bodied, will drink my last bottle soon.

  • Light to medium weight red. Lost in my cellar but still quite nice for a wine past it’s prime. Earlier review from Purslane nails it. Lots going on here if you take time to really taste it.

  • In its sunset days, though it's still got some tricks up the sleeve. Medium garnet, and heavily tawny to the rim. Opens with a bevy of different soil notes, with the nose really transporting me back to where these vines are grown (have been there many times already). Medium-bodied, higher acidity, tannins starting to dry out. This is like a wave - one minute its up, then it's down. When it's up, the wine picks up on even the slightest details buried in the food; when it's down, the va and dried leather notes tend to overwhelm. Not likely to get better, so drink if you've got some. The 2008 Puritani still haunts my dreams (enjoyed about 18 mos ago). Brilliant winegrowing, good purity, still manages a medium finish. Drink now. recommended

  • High pitched earthy red berry nose. Light weight elegant mouth. Long acidic finish with fine grained chalky tannins.

  • A relatively pale red wine, with just a see through ruby, but a good example of how a wine can drink well without being big. For one thing, the lack of a powerful and dominant flavor lets a chorus of secondary flavors sing together, including red cherry, raspberry, evergreen foliage, underbrush, earthiness, and lilac. Also, drunk with food, the wine harmoniously melds with the food flavors instead of overpowering them. Overall, elegant and savory.
