Kinda like ALANM68 noted earlier in his note, hits its stride about now. Pretty spot on. Keep it quick, opaque purple in the glass and more red on the fruits. Stewed dark cherries and I get the boysenberry in there. Fun Mix, velvety texture moving to middle with medium acidity, and then a lengthy finish of the same. A bit one note from beginning to end, yet with depth and focus at times that makes you drink this faster than it deserves.

Le Volte only really starts to show well, for me, at 10 years old. So 2012 is coming into its own now. Will never be stellar but is often ideal if you’re opening a second bottle and want something that will perform well and that is predictable and reliable.

This has developed so well. Compared to the new released wines it's more down to earth, harmonic, rounded, ageing notes but still vibrant and juicy/fruity. Such QPR - Wish I had more, but will cellar a bunch of these for enjoying in the future.

Consistent with previous note, although I must confess my score was on the conservative side. Nice stuffing, everything well in place, but nothing to merit a score in the 'wow'-zone. The acidity is the element that makes this a digestible wine and keeps it light on its feet. With that in mind I will upgrade my score with 2 points.

The wine is clear, looks purplish coloured. The legs are long. There is not much sediment in the bottle.
On the nose: Black pepper, Savoury herbs, blackberry.
On the palate: Black pepper, Stoniness, rich stewed red fruit. Overall savoury with a lot of minerality.
The body is medium The wine has slightly angular texture. The wine has a medium finish The wine has fresh to smooth acidity. The wine medium Tannins.
Decanted for 1h. Bit by Bit the fruit started to come. Very dark almost black in colour. Overall very savoury, not amazing but ok for a Saturday night in Jan. Its definitely a food wine and went well with Spaghetti and meatballs.
