Hazy plummy garnet. Smells like black cherry, plum, smoke, crushed rocks. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of black cherry, plum, lemon, and minerals. A little volatile acidity showing this last glass, interestingly. Tannins are a bit firm yet post meal. Pretty solid overall though.

Pretty raspberry, plum, earth, tea. Drying dusty tannins (overly drying) and almost nebbioloish. No heat noticeable (15%!). A bit of spritz on the open just to give it a touch of a bite. Opened for a couple of hours and then closed and opened again 5 hours later and it was totally oxidized. Ferments could be an issue here and in many respects the exact opposite of the MunJebel Rosso 9 MC.

Mouth - spiced berries, with hints of cinnamon. Somewhat astringent. Rustic though no denying the quality of the underlying fruit. Better on day 2. Most reminiscent of a red burgundy, but lacking in refined tannins.
