good but not great PN. Strawberrys, tart cherry on the palate and the nose. As the wine opened up some barnyard funk showed up, decent amount of tannins . Drank over about a hour pared with grilled Sea Bass. Opened up over the first 15min I don!t think this bottle would have improved with a longer decant.
Nose provides abundant raspberry, strawberry, intensity but still a bit subdued. Wet forest floor and mushroom. Palate adds balance, acidity and clear razor sharp red currant. Overall impression is positive.
Did not decant; nose a bit closed in and did not open up very much over the 2-3 hours of drinking the wine. Plums, berries, and spice; mild tannins in the finish. Recommend decanting for a couple of hours before serving. First of several 2012 Oregon Pinot Noirs I plan on trying over the next couple of weeks. Served with grilled salmon.
