Consistently good, and one of my favorite vintages for current consumption. A mix of black & red fruit on the nose, seamless on the palate with good persistence.

I've had this wine a number of times since it was released, and for current drinking it's one of my favorite vintages. Ripe black & red fruit on the nose, nicely balanced with good persistence on the palate. Maybe a touch less acidity than I normally look for in my Chianti, but otherwise very nice.

This is good, but somewhat in the shadow of the ‘11 Stella Brunello I just tried. That said, given the price differential, that is hardly a criticism. Earthy red and black fruit on the nose, decent acidity - year in, year out, probably my favorite producer of Chianti.

Another impressive wine - I just had a glass of the 2010 Montenidoli, and this wine is equally delicious. Very similar on the nose, more red-fruited but with that earthiness for additional appeal/complexity.
I would have difficulty picking a favorite between these two tonight, so I will just have to enjoy both, paired with my wife's chicken cacciatorre!

Lovely and ready; on the palate, leans more to black fruit than red. Good acidity.
