The Penfolds Bin 311 Tumbarumba 2013 has remained true to itself. Five years ago I wrote about the wine, which for once is not a multi-regional blend, but comes from Tumbarumba: "The minty, fragrant tone reminiscent of camomile predominated. On the palate, Bin 311 is finely creamy, pleasantly lean and balanced, with a fine acidity running through it. A skilfully made wine." That's it! One likes to drink this, seems balanced, skilful but also a bit inconsequential on a high level. Therefore:
Score ø: 16,83, own score: 17 | Ranking: 14 of 25 Tasted and rated blind at the Cool Climate Chardonnay Reenactment Tasting on 11-July 2022

Light straw color. There is plenty of SO2 under screwcap. Open with heavy reduction. After long time is coming some flowers, peaches, pears. Medium+ acidity, fresh and balanced.

Minerally and quite focused, and still very fresh; this seems to be evolving at a glacial place, but is all the better for it.

Not much to add to my previous note, other than it's not showing any sign of decline yet.

Classic chard. Needs a bit more body and then you could blind it against a burgundy.
