  • Harmand Geoffroy Mazis chambertin 2002
On the nose, black fruit, earth, clove, some sweet spice like clove. The palate is rich with black fruit, some clove and cinnamon notes, elegant and round, some sweetness. Good for drinking. 95/100

  • An absolute delight to drink now! More Mazis than Chambertin, it nonetheless carries the corps of its region with the outerwear of the somewhat sauvage, spicy overtones that make it delicious. Dark red/black color, nose that beguiles in its spice and deep red cherry/blackberry tones, and a palate that is lush yet vibrantly-scented sous bois, cherry, blackberry and soil. Medium weight, not of the higher Charmes complexity or the depth of a truly great producer, but truly fine to savor now with no decant.

  • a bit light and slightly lean at the end. Still a respectable wine.

  • Out of Riedel Sommelier. Dense burgundy colour, no signs of age. In the nose, this is quite powerful and intense. Fruit somewhere between plums and black cherry, very earthy and spicy - reminding me of a Vosne Romanee. Despite its power and intensity, it‘s quite elegant. In the mouth, the intensity continues, the tannins are fine and resolved, the wine is quite massive though, huge, slightly stewed fruit, deep minerality, but greatly balanced finish. Love this wine.
