Don't know if my mouth chemistry was off or the Food (lasagna) didn't agree the wine. I found this bottle to be high in acid with low fruit. Drank at room temp. It tasted different when coravined the night before at cellar temp. 3 others drinking the wine liked it. One thing i am certain of is the acid is still high.

Holy cow! A Pax wine that's starting to show very modest signs of maturing... This is my last bottle of the '03- last time I had it was 5 years ago. Big raspberry, pepper, a little vanilla, a little too much acid but this finally starting to integrate nicely... Mouth watering tannins, long finish too. I still have a nice stash of older Pax wines that will probably be best after 2020.

WCC US Syrah Blind (Provence Restaurant, Albany, NY): [Double-decanted around 5pm.] Ripe nose of sweet & spicy red fruit. Ripe and juicy in the mouth. Long and tasty.

This was nice new world style syrah. Great fruit. It still needs time for the Acid to come into balance. Could merit a high score in the future
