I have almost no experience with portugese reds but I find this pleasurable, reminiscent of some of the finer, lighter aussie I've tried, such as Ben Glaetzer''s top wines. I feel this is good value at 22 euro.

Once again I get that lactic plum and herbal leaf combo that I usually notice in Malbec from the Mendoza. This is still very young and brutish but yes, the parts are all there. It's almost unfair to put a score but it needs time to develop into an outstanding wine. If it ever will. 89+

Académie des Cinquante Portugal Tasting (Diner Thuis, The Hague, NL): Cherries, slightly lactic, spices, modern, floral, fresh, attractive, light flavours, medium body, pure phenolics from the skins. Expensive.
