Pale garnet core, with some bricking. Crystal clear. Brick dust and clove on the nose, showing some maturity. Dry, with bracing acidity and no discernible tannins. Leafy and autumnal on the palate, but with plenty of tart cherry fruit shining through. Very Burgundian — not unlike the 2011 vintage in Oregon. Definitely needs some food, but nothing more than a good soft cheese to let the wine shine through.
Update: The wine improved quite a bit with some air, shaking off some of its initial austerity and letting the fruit take center stage to balance out the acidity. I would definitely let this breathe for a couple of hours to show its best. Impressive!

Dried cherries on the nose and other fruit flavor on the mid-palette. Long finish for a NY Fingerlakes Pinot. Very nice!
