Very sadly - if not surprisingly, given a low-mid shoulder fill - this was long gone, offering an anonymous old winey profile that said nothing of either Cos or 1945 (aside, perhaps, from the fact that it was still tannic). Ex-chateau.

One of the finest wines I've had. Rich, elegant, light and dark fruits - beautiful body. I appreciate Cos, and good Bordeaux, but they're not my favorite. This, however, was spectacular. Really memorable and everlasting.

Christmas Icons Sampling (The Sampler, London): For Cos groupies like us this was ray of sunshine in a snowy london. Very much alive and vibrant wine. One might consider decanting too. Nice structure still and nice elegant nose. A good 91-92 wine but as with these old bottles its a gamble as to bottle variation etc.

Chateau Cos d'Estournel vertical (IOD, London): Darker than the 1949, a cleaner nose, sweet and silky on the palate, fresh acidity - very nice
