Largely consistent with Jan. '15 note. Medium(+) ruby color with some transparency. Aromas of smoke, bacon, dill pickles, cola, and dark red fruits. Medium body, medium+ acid and finish, and flavors of dark red fruits, cola, and spice. Worked well with braised pork tacos with cilantro and pickled onions.

Served cool after chilling outside for awhile. Initial aromas of apple, boysenberry and black raspberry. A bit sweeter than our taste, although not jammy. Acid and tannin are quick to disappear from the palate. Drank with grilled burgers, roasted veggies (carrots, brussel sprouts, potatoes and butternut squash with rosemary, olive oil and Montreal steak seasoning). Works with the burgers, but simple. Taste of cured meat (?) or smoke coming on after 15-20 minutes. Aroma of tobacco and cola with a cola taste and some alcohol heat. Sweetness abating or wine is coming into balance. This is a full-bodied wine that presents little austerity and no dirt. This wine is improving after being open for 40 minutes or so. We bumped from 88 to 89 as the wine breathed. Would drink again with beef or by itself.

Dark clear ruby. Earth, spice, and cherry cola nose. Medium bodied, candied strawberries, chocolate covered cherries, fine grained tannins, a touch of smoke, and a long sweet but dry finish. A great young wine.

Good proportion of fruit, acid, tannin. Notably Brett-y. Some people like that.
