  Gentle, somewhat subtle/feminine and silky, vinous, with lean bubbles. Light, but concentrated on the palate. Very impressive and unusual champagne, at good maturity now.

  Short note, Bright charming nose, with very pretty deep set palette. I like the balance and clean ringing fruit of the finish.

  Dinner with the wine group (Terun, Palo Alto): 2013 vintage, blanc de noirs. Light golden, lovely balance with some yeasty bread; medium bodied, fresh lemon lime but also good depth; finish is medium length. Really lovely balanced champagne. Seems ready to drink. 92

Of course possible that it was an "off" bottle, but it just seemed tired; the midpalate intensity wasn't there and it came across just a tiny bit flabby. Some have suggested that these wines are best in their first few years, and perhaps that's right. It's a shame because a bottle two years ago was singing.
