Top shoulder fill. Cork soaked to the top, but no seepage. Bricking color. This bottle is not shot but well past its best. It still has plenty of weighty extract and there's some freshness but there's also a vinegary edge, the fruit has faded and the finish is drying out. YMMV, bottle by bottle at this point.

Great looking bottle, fill into the neck. Terrific dark color, this was the most brawny of the old timers. Still incredibly youthful, even a bit burly with some tannins left to resolve. Perhaps not surprisingly given this structure, this was the most Bordeaux like in flavors and texture showing cassis, great acids, and nice integration in a semi-stolid fashion. Delicious.

Alive and kicking! Dark, ruddy red color. Good nose. On the palate, it's more about tones than flavor, and they're all good for 42 years if a tad subdued.

Solid. Fading fruit with a dominate medicinal and cedar nose. Some blackberry left on the palate but mostly secondary flavors of cedar and a little eucalyptus. Enjoyable at the 40 yr point.
