  • Initial thoughts: 2 thumbs up . We like our Chardonnay to have a heavy pear fruit flavor. This is that exactly. Very smooth and not too acidic. Has a bit of an apple finish. Label says it is supposed to have a caramel flavor as well - can't taste much of that yet, but probably will as it warms up a little bit. Definitely a new favorite value Chardonnay.

  • The smell notes of pear and peach with a slight alcohol tinge with tasting notes of peach, pear and oak. There is a slight bitterness on the breath right away which gives way quickly. Highly recommend for the price
The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like peach, pear and oak.

  • As with the previous vintage, plenty of oak influence without any jarring woodiness. Caramel, butterscotch, apple, and a touch of spice as it warms. Almost dry, with both body and acidity somewhere in the light to medium range.

  • Served at a wedding reception. Thin and insipid not much flavor.

  • Nose of pear hits you as you open it. it kinda tastes like pear pie, but without the butter I expected. It finishes off fast with a bitterness on the tip of the tongue. However, after an hour breathing it does open up more with honey and butterscotch and hte bitterness fades off faster.
Kendal Jackson's vintner reserve has more creaminess that I like in a chardonnay.
It is similar value as Ravenwood, which is a tad more fruity and doesnt have the bitterness in the finish. However, Woodbridge might actually be better value for the bucks, if Kendal Jackson is more expensive than you feel like spending. It is a cheap wine and you cant expect wonders at this price range. So it is fine, Ill buy it on sale for cooking with half of it and drinking the rest.

Edit: after a week in the fridge, the bitter finish integrated nicely, providing the nice creaminess I like, raising it to 85 points.
