4th go at this one and it till impresses me at $7. Don't expect something spectacular, but it is a bargain buy.
(previous) 2nd tasting with consistent notes. The half star is for the QPR. ~ This is a really nice Viongier for $7. It certainly tastes like it costs more. It's not all that complex, but also not too sweet or light bodied. This will make for a great summer sipper out on the deck.

This is a really light Viognier. It just barely has the slightly higher viscosity we expect from a Viognier, it really is more like a Sauvignon Blanc in mouth feel. Aside from being on the light side, this wine tastes really great, and I can easily understand why many give it a higher score. For about $7 bucks, this is has a relatively unique flavor profile that is a nice change of pace from the usual white wine offerings. The nose is fairly shy but has a floral, honey, orchard fruit meets citrus when you take in a good sniff. The acid is a little grainy and harsh. This wine is growing on me as the second glass does an awesome job of quenching my thirst.

Once this warmed up slightly there's lovely viognier perfume: flowers, peach, honey, apricot. Crisp acidity on the dry finish washes away any illusion of sweetness.
