By the glass at Epiphany Farms. Amber color with toffee, peanut brittle, cherry and caramelized pear aromas. Flavors of pear, toffee and cashew. Long finish. Excellent.

Amber-ruby in color with some light sediment. Mahogany, dusty library, orange spice, vanilla, and light VA on the nose. Bright acidity, rich flavor profile, and noticeable tannins. Dried nuts, candied orange peel, caramel, and burnt sugar on the palate. Nice long finish with complex waves of flavors.

goldish tawny colour and pretty legs in the glass. complex nose of raisinated apricot, fig and grapes (!!) with leather, cigar box and floral potpourri. smooth in the mouth, the fruits unfurl between veins of caramel and nuts in a seamless parade, brightened by acidity that deftly balances the sweetness. a hint of savoury notes appears in the spice accents. good complexity, concentration and impressive length.

Really lovely wine—very mellow while retaining enough fruit to balance out the mild leather and tobacco overtones. Tried against the 10, 20, and 50-year (wow!)-lightest in color and deeply developed at this point. This one compares favorably with the 20 but may not be worth the bump in price if you have a bottle of each to decide between.

I imagine it’s difficult to go wrong with a 30 year Tawny! The nut flavor really comes through and is not super sweet overall (I tend to prefer a sweeter tawny). Highly recommend.
