Medium garnet. Fairly muted nose although opened up with time in the decanter/glass. Classic mature Cabernet Sauvignon - blackcurrant, pencil lead, blackcurrant leaf, cedar, tobacco, earth and smoke. Fully developed. Tannins are fairly soft, acidity is just about balanced by the fruit. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in this very difficult year for Bordeaux. It’s well made and about as good as could be expected but it’s not worth what’s being asked for it on the market now. Selling remainder of case to buy a better vintage.

Opened the night before and then double decanted. For me this wine has impressive quality and elegance, despite the 2013 year was quite a mess in Bordeaux. The colour is a beautiful ruby red color with no bricking at rim at all. It really reminds me of a Pinot from Burgundy, and even by putting it under the nose. Sous-bois, cassis, blueberry, red currant, wet leaves, capsicum, bay leaf, mushrooms, leather, coffee bean and bitter cocoa, good minerality and graphite finish. Complex. Elaegance and subtlelty on the nose, almost burgundian. Good concentration on the palate, considering the vintage, the palate is very juicy and racy. Tannins are beautifully integrated. Not very concentrated or powerful yet austere and silky. Classic Pauillac mouthfeel with its distinctive bitterness, sweet spices.. 13% and i would say this is velvety and drinkable Bordeaux right now. After almost 10 years the wine is for sure ready and pleasurable to drink, but i think it may will develop further complexity, even if it will not be for sure a banger, it will retain its charming and elegant character for many years, tannins are still there, acidity is high. Maybe there’s a green, leafy and herbal note that comes over, but not overwhelming the balance. Great effort and result, for a great and alluring Cabernet Sauvignon.

Decanted four (4) hours. Muted red/black fruit; forest floor & green pepper. In a difficult year; a decent effort but under ripe elements overwhelm here. At seven (7) years of age; I find little evidence this is going to have any demonstrable improvement. Drink now.

Deep colour with signs of starting maturity
Green notes and bellpepper that become stronger with air.
Nice fruit good length.
