  Brick red/orange at the rim. Very very earthy on opening. Too earthy… but with air it’s now much more balanced, with tar on the nose, full-bodied mouthfeel, and the tannins are still fairly grippy. I think it could go another 5 at least. Enjoyed this very much.

  A little off color--light browning. It has been stored properly at 56 degrees. Seemed to be a little flat --not what I had expected. An almost gravelly finish--fruit seemed suppressed.

  youthful and angry when first opened
  settled down after 30 minutes or so to a classic mid life barolo
  years of life left

  This is “a point” now, IMO. Brick color, lovely perfumed nose, some raisin and matured notes.
  Still grip from fine tannins, good fruit and body, wide taste range, elegant minerality.
