Medium/deep slightly dull straw yellow. Developed nose with over-ripe pear, plenty of creamy oak, a little soil, teetering on being overmature but some freshness too gives it some lift. Medium/full bodied, ripe fallen pears, rich but in truth a little tired on the mid-palate with the first signs of oxidation. Some freshness on the back end though carries a decent length creamy finish. On this showing, whilst attractive enough, it needs drinking up.

Bright, medium gold. Typical steely minerality on the medium + intense nose, very floral with baked apple and spicy notes. Still quite fresh with just the merest whiff of honey and hazelnut. This has nice wieght on the palate with good balancing medium +/crisp acidity. Good fruit intensity too with floral notes, baked apple, some spice and lots of steely minerality and some nicely integrated oak on a lingering finish. Overall a good well balanced wine with reasonable depth but perhaps lacking a little charm. However has depth and structure and may yet improve (leave for another couple of years).
